I've been a born-again Christian for twenty seven years now, and God has put on my heart to teach about the reality that the devil and demons do exist, and that deliverance is still needed today. We will go into an indepth study, from a Biblical view, about the devil and his dark kingdom.
The Church of Jesus Christ needs a wake-up call in the area of deliverance. We are called to have the same kind of compassion and love as Jesus had, to see wounded believers set free from the deception and bondage of evil spirits (demons).
Jesus Christ's mission on earth, as we see in I John 3:8 was "...for this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil". Deliverance was no minor ministry for Jesus, as Son of God and Son of Man. His main title is Saviour, for He came into this world to save us from sin and to free us from evil.
Before we begin our study, I want to make one thing clear -- that in no way should we seek to glorify the devil or demons, but rather learn all we can about them, their mission, and their battleplans against mankind. Also, that Satan and demons WERE defeated at the cross of calvary, so any legal ground the devil gains into a believers life is by choice through lies, deception and not walking close to the Lord Jesus.
In the beginning, God saw that all His creations were good (read Genesis 1:1-25). It seems God was saying to mankind that it is good that you exist. We were created for His pleasure.
Throughout the Bible (holy Scriptures) we see the existence of demons (fallen angels). First we need to start at the beginning and see where the devil and demons came from. God created a place called Hell not for the human race, but he created it for Satan (the devil) and all the evil spirits/demons, which at one time were holy angels serving God, until one angel decided to rebel against God and became unholy. His name was Lucifer when he was a holy angel. Then after he rebelled, God changed his name to Satan, meaning adversary or enemy. Satan managed to get one-third of all the holy angels to also rebel against God, and they became unholy (or fallen) angels, demons, evil spirits, etc.
So you see, God never intended for any human being to ever go to or end up in a firey place called Hell. God loves the human race so much that He sent His own Son (Jesus Christ) to come to earth as a man (as both God and man). He lived a life without sin, but died on a cross for all our sins. Jesus, without sin, took all of humanities sins, shed His blood as a remission for sin, and paid the only price that God the Father said would keep the human race He loves so much from going to a place (Hell) never meant for them.
I am sure you have heard of the saying "misery loves company". Well, that sums up Satan, the leader of the angelic rebellion. He knows he is heading for a place that was created for him, and if he can keep any human beings blind to the fact that God gave us Jesus (a free gift from Heaven), who gave Himself for us, then Satan will lead you right inside the gates of Hell, if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and Lord of your life. God loves you; Satan hates you. And if you are lost (not saved), God is eagerly waiting for you to accept His free gift of Salvation through His Son so that you miss Hell and go to Heaven for all eternity.
So what is the truth about this subject? There are four different levels of evil spirit (demon) activity that can affect a person's life:
1.Possession - A word which implies that Satan or a demon has gained total control of the personality of a human being, which is expressed day-by-day. It is rare that a person can be totally possessed, but it does happen. Some of the worst examples seen throughout history have been Charles Manson (real last name Maddox -- he took this name in irreverence to the Son of Man ... Man-son), seriel killers, Adolf Hitler, etc. How Satan or demons can be within people is a mystery.
2. Demonized/Infested - This is to have an evil spirit within a person. And not only one spirit, but often quite a few, ranging from one to a "legion", meaning many. In Luke 8:30, we see an example of an infestation of evil spirits. "And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him". Also in Luke 8:2, "And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils." A person who is truly demonized experiences the evil presence within.
3. Oppression - A. Temptation - evil spirits can work on and aggrivate our weaknesses, and through our imaginations make our temptations worse (Read II Corinthians 10:5). B. - Physical Attacks - We see that many of Jesus' healings were done by casting out evil spirits, showing that demons physically attack. Luke 9:42 reads: "And as He was yet a-coming, the devil threw him down and tare him; and Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father." (Also read Mark 5:1-16; Matthew 8:16; and Matthew 12:22).
4. Emotional Oppression - In our fast-paced world, with problem after problem, stress, etc., many human psychological factors can produce depression and emotional outbreaks. But evil spirits can also oppress our emotions, such as depression, for no apparent reason. This culminates in an overwhelming feeling of hopelessness, thoughts of suicide, insanity, etc.
So we can see there are a number of ways Satan and demons can, from the outside or the inside, seek to inflict people.
All Christians can pray for deliverance. We are His children, and His will for us is to destroy the works of the devil.
Jesus taught in Mark 16:16-18 -- "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned; and these signs shall follow them that believe: In My Name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover".
Now let's break this all down ....
First, Jesus spoke of the person who believes. Believes what? That Jesus was God-in-the-flesh (John 1:1 & 14 -- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ... And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us"). A person who is born again (John 3:3 -- "Verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"). A person who has been baptized (John 3:5 -- "Verily, verily I say unto you, except a man be born of water and of spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God").
There are several conditions that enables one to prayer for deliverance -- for self, for other believers, and to BIND spirits that hinder non-believers in hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ with a clear and open mind.
Condition #1: You must be "saved" (born-again, regeneration, a new spiritual birth).
Let's look at an example in which some who tried deliverance of evil spirits were not saved, but had a "form" of religion. We see what happened to them in Acts 19:13-16. "Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth, and there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew and Chief of the priests, which did so; and the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them and overcame them and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded".
Evil spirits knew those who were truly saved and who were not. Non born-again believers should NEVER confront the enemy without Jesus Christ!
Condition #2: Holy Spirit Baptism
Jesus said we should not only be born-again, but also baptized, which is a part of salvation and repentance. But I believe in Mark 16:6 Jesus was talking about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. As we see in Acts 1:5,8 -- "For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence; but you shall receive POWER, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and you shall be witnesses unto Me, both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth".
You must be baptized with the Holy Spirit. We do have authority just from being saved (born-again), because in Col. 1:13-14, we are told, "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His Dear Son, in whom we have redemption through His Blood, even the forgiveness of sins".
Once you are born again, you move from the kingdom of Satan to the Kingdom of God. But to do the works that Jesus did (healing or deliverance), God needs to fill us with His power from the Holy Spirit. In His ministry, Jesus did no miracles until the Holy Spirit empowered Him. We must also ask God for the baptism of the Holy Spirit for this service. To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to walk daily with the Lord and to be emersed in God's word. Without Jesus and His authority backing us, we can do nothing!
Condition #3: Authority in the Name of Jesus
In Acts 4:12, we are told, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved". And in Matthew 28:18, Jesus said "All power is given unto me in Heaven and in earth".
We are to use the Name of Jesus in prayer for healing and deliverance. Using any other name against Satan or demons will not bring results. But in using the Name of Jesus, which He gave and commanded us to use, in prayer for healing or deliverance, God backs up the Name of the Son who has ALL power and authority, as head of the Church. He has given His authority to the body of Christ and individual believers against Satan and demons.
Condition #4: Power in the Blood of Jesus
Life is the in the blood. We all know that without blood in your system, or little amounts of blood, the body dies.
We see through the Blood of Jesus that God the Father has accepted us and redeemed us, forgiving our sins (Read Ephesians 1:6-7). Jesus died on the cross and shed His Blood for us. And if Jesus lives in us, then we are overcomers (Read Revelation 12:11).
Glory be to God!
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (via the Holy Spirit). We are overcomers! All of this was made possible because Jesus defeated Satan at the Cross. Satan hates the Blood of Jesus. He knows it has defeated him. Satan hates when a Christian pleads the Blood of Jesus and stands his or her ground by their testimony, reminding him (Satan) that their victory is insured by the price Jesus paid for us.
Facts about Satan:
Because you are covered by the Blood of Jesus Christ, the only way Satan can do anything to you is if you let him.
Submit yourself to God; resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7). And how do you resist him? The Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. (See the SPIRITUAL WARFARE PAGE to learn about the Sword of the Spirit)
Condition #5: The Power of Prayer
Power in prayer. There just can't be enough said on this matter. In every area of the Christian's life, prayer is the key to keeping in touch with God. It's like a spiritual cellphone. No matter where you are, day or night, we have a link to Heaven. And when it comes to deliverance, we need to especially be listening to our Commander-in-Chief in our fight against Satan. I must make it clear here that Satan and demons are powerful spirit-beings, but we are commanded not to worry or fear because "...greater is He (Jesus) that is in you than he (Satan) that is in the world (I John 4:4). Satan's powers are no match for the power of God. Jesus had to pray to the Father for power and strength in His battle with Satan. How much more should we be in prayer as we go up against Satan?!
Condition #6: Fasting -- The Partner of Prayer
In Matthew 17:14-21, we see a man asking the disciples for mercy and help for his son, who had been possessed by a foul spirit (Jesus called it a dumb and deaf spirit). The disciples could not do it, so Jesus intervened. After Jesus delivered the boy (cast out the demon), the disciples asked him why they had not been able to cast it out. Jesus gave them a two-part answer:
1) Because of their lack of faith (doubt), and
2) they should have fasted and prayed.
Fasting brings about self-denial and mortifies the flesh. It is a source of power from On High. If you are going to confront the enemy head-on, one-on-one, pray and ask the Lord if fasting will be needed. Jesus always stayed prayed-up. He fasted and stayed in tune with the Father, which always brought about the Will of God in healings, deliverance, miracles, etc.
Condition #7: Divine Protection
The moment that God saved you, you moved from one kingdom to another kingdom -- from under Satan's power to God's Power, from Satan's plan to steal, kill and destroy your life to God's Plan of Divine Protection, life abundant, peace, and to be with Him throughout all eternity after we leave this world.
Psalms 91 shows that all those who dwell in Christ, daily walking with Him, have His 100% divine promises of victory over and against all the realms of darkness. Psalms 91:14 -- "Because he (PLACE YOUR NAME THERE) hath set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him...". In Esphesians 6:11, God commands that we put on the whole armour of God daily against the enemies of our soul. (Once again, see the SPIRITUAL WARFARE PAGE section on putting on the Armour of God
Handkerchiefs: In Paul's ministry, he gave handkerchiefs that when they were touched, brought blessings, deliverance and driving away evil spirits.
In some of todays ministries, they are still used. The name was changed from prayer handkerchiefs of their day to prayer cloths today.
Oil: Or anointing oil. It was and still is used today for deliverance and healing. James 5:13-14 says, "Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry, Let him sing songs. Is any sick among you? Let him (the person who is sick) call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, annoint him with oil in the Name of the Lord". (Also read Luke 10:33-34)
Note: It is important that the one who is sick, believe the Lord will heal them by excerising his or her faith in agreement with those who are anointing and praying for them acording to God's word.
Salt: This was another early Christian tradition. Blessed salt sprinkled on food can be used as a form which God can bring healing or deliverance.
Water/Holy Water: Water sprinkle on the one needing healing or deliverance.
Please note: All these objects within themselves are meaningless and powerless. Pray to God that He will put His anointing on them as a form of connecting to God's power to deliver, heal, etc. These objects are not necessarily needed when praying for the deliverance or healing, but at times can be a help. Most importantly, we need to listen to the Holy Spirit for our guidance.
There are also objects that can draw demons (evil spirits) and invite them or basically give them permission to stay around the area of these objects. Examples would be pentagrams, Ouija Boards, dragons, crystals, tarot cards, goats heads, horoscope books -- anything in the realm of the occult.

Satan can invade a Christian's life through many different doorways. We need to learn about these different doorways so we can get everything out of our hearts and life, and have God shut these doorways, lock them forever, and put a sign on the door ... "DO NOT ENTER".
It's time for the Body of Christ to stop pointing the finger at everyone else, using every excuse to put the blame elsewhere for most of the troubles and problems that come into ourlives. Let's be honest before God, pull out and dust of the mirror, stand before it and examine our own hearts against the Light of God's Word.
We need to get on our knees before God. Confess our sins, knowing we are guilty with no real excuse. Repent, meaning to accept the truth and turn and go in the right direction. Renounce, meaning to serve notice to the kingdom of darkness that this sin has been confessed and repented of before God, and that God has forgiven it/them, and that you have given God Lordship over those areas of your life. In short, you are telling Satan, "HANDS OFF!"
Now, if you did this and you were sincere in your heart before God (and He knows if you were!), then as Jesus said, "It is finished". Walk in the victory of God's forgiveness, mercy, grace and His love for you.
Commit to your heart what you have learned, guard your heart from now on. And as Jesus said in John 8:11 -- "...Go and sin no more".
Now let's look at a list of how demons can enter someone's life:
I Timothy 4:1 -- "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils".
A doctrine of demons is:
A. Anything that teaches that you can have
access to God without Jesus Christ.
B. New Age--Any teaching that opposes the doctrines of the bible
C. Humanism -- making man as God
D. Hedonism is the thought which argues that pleasure
is the only intrinsic good or "god"
E. Maryism -- those who have been taught the way
to God is through Mary, as a Intercessor the "God the Father"
That Mary wasn't just the Mother of Jesus "the human child,
but also the "Mother of God" therefore being "sinless" and "Divine" in nature
That Mary is a Co-Redeemer, the ability to forgive sins "the same as Jesus"
Acts 4:10-12 teaches that Salvation comes through the Son of God (Christ Jesus) ONLY -- no other way.
Another doctrine of demons is Christless Christianity:
A. Those who go to church, worshipping the denomination and not the Saviour. They're lost!!
B. Believing church membership will save you
C. Believing baptism will save you
D. You must be saved. You must be a new creature in
Christ Jesus and be under the Blood of Jesus.
A major doctrine of demons is rock music and other associated types of music.
Rock concerts have almost become Satanic worship services. Concert-goers are encouraged to wear Satanic symbols (on jewelry, t-shirts, etc.), make demonic hand-gestures, place themselves in a drug-culture atmosphere, etc. Even actions which seem innocent can have satanic roots -- such as people lighting cigarette lighters and holding them up. Whether they realize it or not, this began as a tribute to Satan/Lucifer, "the angel of light".
Lyrics in music often discuss and advocate:
A. Suicide
B. Rape
C. Murder
D. Homosexuality
E. Social Rebellion
F. Actual Satan Worship
And it's not just our children listening to this. Some parents are every bit as involved in rock music as their children!
If you are trying to live the life of a Christian, this music will:
1. Kill you spiritually
2. Lead to emotional problems
3. Possibly bring physical death
4. Certainly damn your soul if left unrepented
Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin" (John 8:34).
Get this music out of your home, and don't give it to someone else to have. Get rid of it! Break it, burn it, throw it in the trash, because that's exactly what it is ... spiritual trash. If you are the parent of a child who listens to this trash, don't give in. You're in authority. It's your home ... get it out!
But, this information does not apply to rock music alone. Certain Rap music is glutted with violence and ideas of death (remember the famous cop-killer song), not to mention sexual overtones galore. And the world of country music advocates such immoralities as:
1. Adultry
2. Drunkeness
3. Broken homes
4. Divorce
The rock musicians mentioned above are at least faithful to their debotched lifestyles. At a country music concert, the artists tend to go from one extreme to the next, singing one song about topics that run from cheating on your wife to kicking the dog, and the next song will be anything from "I'll Fly Away" to "How Great Thou Art"! They may be singing "Shall We Gather at the River", but they don't mention that the one they're meeting at the river isn't their husband or wife! You can't mix the two worlds!!
Although you or your children are probably much safer sticking to Christian music or Christian concerts, even these should be monitored. In recent years, too many "Christian" artists are confessing to a multitude of good old-fashioned sins, such as cheating-leading-to-adultry and divorce. And there never seems to be any repentance or restitution for any of this! They merely confess their infidelities to the world (more because they've been caught than because they're truly repentant), and then skip off merrily with the very one they left their mate for ... and usually end up singing their gospel songs once again!
The next doctrine of demons is "Idle Words"
Key Verse: Matthew 12:36 -- "But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgement. For by thy words thou shall be justified, and by thy words thou shall be condemned".
James 3:5-6 tells us: "Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. So is the tongue among our members that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature, and it is set on fire of Hell."
God's Word says that death and life are in the power of the tongue (Read Proverbs 18:21). So when you go around saying, "I wish I was dead", don't you realize you are speaking words of death? Or how many people who might be sick once in a while, it seems like every time you see them, they are talking about their sicknesses. They are speaking words of sickness instead of words of healing. What we say often opens doorways for Satan to invade our lives.
And the final doctrine of demons is Spirits Self-Invited By Sin
When in deliverance, 90% of the time when an evil spirit is asked to identify itself, they give names of the area of harrassment they are causing. Examples are:
1. Spirits of Trauma
2. Spirits of Grief
3. Spirits of Rejections
4. Spirits of Fear
If you have a problem with rejection, a spirit of rejection could come into your life and intensify that problem.
It is known that in most cases when a person has one of the spirits of trauma, deliverance (casting out the spirit) may not be necessary. But a person may be healed by prayer for inner healing, and once the emotional wound is healed, these type of spirits often leave. Pray for wisdom to know when and where our emotional problems began. God will help if we will pray. Believe in faith, and He will give us wisdom -- if we don't doubt and if we are patient.
In the meantime, we can prepare ourselves in this way:
1. Pray for Protection
2. Bind the spirits with prayer
3. Forgive any and all who have hurt you
4. Pray for a spiritual healing from these hurts; we're human, and we may not ever forget what has happened, but we don't have to be hurt by it anymore. Jesus can help us to move on.
We need to understand that spirits may enter not only because of sin, but because of our human weaknesses. In countless ways, Jesus fills our wounded nature with His love, His forgiveness, His joy, and His peace. He repairs and replaces everything in our lives that has been hurt or broken.
Spirits feed on other spirits, and open doorways give them the chance to enter. If your problem is rejection, that spirit can invite the spirits of loneliness, self-hatred, self-pity and even suicide. Every case is not the same, and many do not fall to such depths of emotion. But it CAN happen!
Another example is children of broken homes. Divorce is motivated by the sin. Usually strife, self-seeking pleasure, envy, lust, etc. Out of this comes confusion and evil. Broken homes are filled with strife and produce bitter and broken children, as they are witness to the conflict between parents day and night, over and over.
Homes with alcoholic parent or parents are often times filled with cruelty and violence, where children become bitter, angry and resentful, opening the doorway for the demons of hatred and rage.
Although most of the healing process comes through reading the Word of God, prayer, and building our faith, some may need Christian counseling with a pastor or a Christian psychiatrist. But if psychiatric counseling is your option, please check the counselor out before seeing him. The counseling must be based on the Biblical knowledge of deliverance.
The occult (from the Latin meaning hidden or secret) represents the spiritual realm where people seek one of two things:
1. Knowledge
2. Power
These things are not from God.
While many people seek and get involved in the occult, they don't see it as doing anything wrong. The one who gets involved with such practices have opened the doorways for Satan to invade their lives.
More and more, we hear about Satanism and witchcraft. It seems every other commercial on TV is for a "Psychic Hot-Line", which is a form of gaining knowledge about the past, present or future. This is forbidden by God. Those seeking wisdom or knowledge should ask for it from God (see James 1:5).
We have all heard the saying "Curiosity Killed the Cat". Well, when it comes to a desire to know the future (through psychic chanels), it is DANGEROUS to be involved in any of these areas.
Areas of personal involvement include:
1. The Ouija Board -- trying to gain knowledge of the future or the fate of dead loved ones.
2. Other Games, such as Dungeons & Dragons, which cast spells and hold a strange dominance over our lives.
3. The powers of other people -- those who may go to someone for a palm or tarot card reading, consulting with a psychic (whether in person or by telephone), to have spells cast on others (witchcraft or voodoo), to have charts made from their horoscopes, seances, etc.
Ancestral (Familiar) Spirits -- more commanly referred to as "ghosts" or "the spirit" of someone dear to us who has passed on.
These are NOT the spirits of the dead who are not at rest! Read Luke 16:19-31 for Jesus' account of Lazarus and the rich man. This proves that once a person dies, they go to one place or the other ... Heaven or Hell. And they can no longer cross back over to us, or cross back and forth at will.
So familiar spirits simply imitate the souls of the dead (the souls, the bodies, even the voices of ones who have passed on) in order to draw a person into the realm of the occult. Through seances, chanelling, etc., things that are forbidden by God. They open the doorway for more evil spirits than themselves to enter into a person.
Names such as Beelzabub, Pasuzo, Pan ... these represent a high hierarchy, more wicked and more evil, and they move into peoples lives through direct involvement in the occult. They are more difficult to cast out, and are far more dangerous.
It's no wonder why God warns us and forbids these activities, which I am sad to say is all around us. Satan makes it all look so innocent and entertaining (even the psychic hot-line commercials advertise it as "entertainment only"). But these things are nothing more than a trap to insnare all who are curious. DON'T BE FOOLED!!
There are also "trance mediums", who get in touch with a "spirit guide" who takes over the medium's voice and "channels" information from "the other side" to the one who is seeking (and usually PAYING).
Of course, the most serious involvement is one which contacts the realm of Satan directly and knowingly in order to gain power or knowledge.
There have been many who have made a covenant with Satan, in which they "sold" their soul to Satan in order to achieve money, fame and the worship of others. PEOPLE BEWARE: Remember when we said our very words could invite evil spirits and bring tragedy into our lives? There's an expression which is probably the most dangerous of all to use. And people use it so carelessly for anything they want. A baseball fan might say, "I'd sell my soul to the devil for a ticket to the World Series". Or a young man might say, "I'd sell my soul to have a date with that girl". There's also another old saying: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR ... YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT!!!!
When we say the word "witch", I think most people of Samantha on "Bewitched", or more recently "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch". But witches, warlocks and witchcraft are nothing like those innocent shows from childhood portray. Those shows, however, can be the first steps in getting our children interested in a lifestyle of spells, potions and and other occult involvements. Witches and warlocks are nothing more than Satan-worshippers. Most of the people who are Satanists (worshipping Satan in the highest form) have at some point made a written or BLOOD contract with Satan himself, making this the most difficult occult practice to break free of.
Aside from such tools of witchcraft as sacrificing animals/human babies, drinking blood, voodoo dolls, witches/warlocks place curses and spells on people.
In Deuteronomy 5:9, God said, "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them ("them" being other gods); for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me".
God tell us in this scripture that sins of parents of past generations are passed down and can now affect us and our children.
For example: If your great-great-grandfather (which is 4th generation) was into any type of occult activity, the chances are good that you and your children will be drawn into these things.
When you get involved in areas that God forbids, you are saying "I hate God" -- and He takes that very personally.
The movie industry in Hollywood makes and distributes a multitude of films that are of the supernatural or demonic nature. Movies such as The Exorcist, The Omen, Rosemary's Baby, Bordello of Blood, Fright Night, Hell Raiser, The Blair Witch Project and literally HUNDREDS more are among the more obvious. TV has also entered the arena with such programming as Tales From the Crypt, Hercules, Xena, X-Files, Sightings, etc. And not only are the adults targeted, but also our small children. Have you parents actually sat down and watched some of those Saturday morning programs your children are glued to? The Smurfs, She-Ra, He-man, to name a few.
God said "you are for me or you are against me" (Matthew 12:30). If you are not spreading light, you are spreading darkness. The same is true for what you surround yourself with -- you are either walking in light, or walking in darkness. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WATCH!
