II Corinthians 11:14 -- " ... Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."
Last week we discussed subliminal messages in music. These messages often appear in the film industry as well. A prime example was the movie "The Exorcist". One scene showed the demon within the little girl speaking in a foreign language. Language experts analyzed the film and discovered the words, when translated, were an incantation -- they were actually conjuring up real-life demons! There is a documented case of a young girl who saw this movie only once. A few days later, she began "hearing voices". A short time later, she committed suicide. I'm not saying that the effects of seeing this movie (or listening to the songs we are discussing) are the same in every case. But when these things happen, it's time we realize that when our own children are involved, taking a chance can be too high a price to pay.
Neurologists say that the brain is divided into two parts: the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere. The right hemisphere of the brain is the subconscious and can decipher backward masking. The left side of the brain is where our memories/dreams come from. Your heart beats and organs function through your subconscious because you are not aware or constantly thinking about these things working. The subconscious is always awake and aware, sending signals to make your heart beat and your lungs to continually breathe. So your system is on sort of an "auto-pilot"! The interesting point is that neurologist confirm that your brain can reject information through the conscious by choice or decisions; but through back-masking, it can pass the left side of the brain of understanding and be taken in through the right side, the subconscious. Once there, it is recorded as fact in your memory. The human mind is the worlds greatest computer system -- once something is there, it is retained forever, whether or not we consciously remember it. So it's no wonder that Satan uses the music that young people listen to (over and over again) to drill the implanted messages into their minds and reinforce the message.
We have already learned of some groups that use back-masking (subliminal messages). Let's take a look at some others.
QUEEN
On the album The Game, the rock group Queen had a song entitled "Another One Bites the Dust". In that song, those words were repeated over and over and over. But when played backwards, the message was repeating, "it's fun to smoke marijuana, fun to smoke marijuana".
The end-times spirit of Sodom was also evident in the events surrounding the death of freddie mercury (real name Frederick Bulsara), lead singer for the rock group Queen. Mercury was bi-sexual, and the group flaunted immorality and rebellion against biblical laws. Many of Queen's hard-rocking songs perennially remain popular rock anthems in sports stadiums and other forums. These include "We Will Rock You," "We Are Champions," and "Another One Bites the Dust." Their song "We Are the Champions" is an unofficial anthem of the homosexual liberation movement. Many of their songs are filthy and vile. Freddie Mercury said, "We want to shock and be outrageous" (Circus, April 1974).
Very close to voodoo is the ancient cult of Pan. Half human and half goat, Pan remains one of the most enduring symbols for the anit-Christ. Instead of God incarnate in man, we see man joined to an animal, one that is both a universal symbol for Satan as well as historically representative of sexual passions. In the Rites of Pan, music and frequently drugs are used to entice spirits to possess the ritual's participants. Possession by Pan (from which we get the word "panic") often results in an obsession with sex and a need for immediate gratification.
Not only do we see the manifestations of this anit-Christ spirit everywhere in rock music today, we find some very direct allusions to Pan himself. Rush's "2112" album features the song "The Temples of Syrinx", a Greek word that relates to Pan.
RUSH
In 1987, Elton John commissioned an artist to design a family crest. Pan was the centerpiece of the design.
LED ZEPPELIN
And the most famous rock song of all time, Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" makes a clear reference to not only the music of Pan and his pipes, but his ability to spiritually influence and guide those who fall under his spell. Lyricyst and singer Robert Plant begins with the thought that "The piper will lead us to reason", and then sings.
There is enough poison in this song forwards to prove fatal. Yes, there are two paths you can go -- Jesus taught us that. One is a road traveled by the multitudes where the desires of our flesh and the idols of the day lead the way. This path, Jesus said, leads to destruction. Then there's the road less traveled, a narrow path that takes us to a hillside near Jerusalem and to a cross. And this is the way that leads to eternal life (Matthew 7:13-14).
The fatal lie in this lyric is that there is always time to change the road you're on. No doubt the group's drummer on that song believed this until he found himself choking in his own vomit after a drug overdose. But by then it was too late, and he was dead within minutes. No one has a guarantee that their next breath won't be their last. And after death comes judgement (Hebrews 9:27).
Satan is hardly "sweet". He is a liar and the father of all lies (John 8:44) and will use anything, including music -- one of the most powerful tools of all time -- to blind you to the reality of God's love and your desperate need for His saving power, to pervert our mind and heart and bring you into greater captivity to sin. But his power can be broken. "For behold, He who was dead is now alive and holds the keys of death and Hell" (Revelation 1:18).
Most rock fans will recognize this hieroglyphic, commonly pronounced "Sozo", as the unofficial name for Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth
album and the personal symbol for Zeppelin's founder, Jimmy Page. What most people don't know is that by Page's own admission "Sozo" is a stylized 666. Not since Nero's Rome has the mark of the beast found such wide-spread expression.
The bottom line is that rock music is over-run with blasphemy. Plain and simple. We'll go deeper into its blasphemous aspects in the next lesson. But I'll give one example here.
KISS
In their song "God of Thunder", they command young people to kneel before Satan:
"I'm lord of the wasteland, a modern day man of steel
I gather darkness to please me
and I COMMAND YOU TO KNEEL
Before, The God of thunder, the god of rock'n roll
I'LL STEAL YOUR VIRGIN SOUL!"
The group Kiss leaped on stage as rock'n roll demons, puking blood,
breathing fire and screaming... "God of rock'n roll, we'll steal your
virgin soul."
Rock-n-roll godless legend, Gene Simmons (real name Chaim Witz) of the heavy metal band KISS, brags in his recent book Kiss and Make-Up that he has had sex with 4,600 women in his career.
Such is the way of the world to brag about fornicating or committing adultry 4,600 times. But scripture is clear on this subject:
1 Corinthians 6:9,10
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?
Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate,
nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers,
nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
It's been told that Gene Simmons was the "brain child" behind the group KISS...but at what price! Many claim that the group isn't satanic or linked in anyway to the devil, but it's no wonder they believe the devil's lies, because they too are of the devil! What's that saying: "birds of a feather flock together"! Of course one doesn't have to take my word for it. Just listen to the word's from God's own mouth...
Why do you not understand My speech? Because you cannot hear My word.
You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you
will do. He (Satan) was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not
in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie,
he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
And because I tell you the truth, yet you believe me not.
John 8:43-45
Note: the devil (Satan) was my father, before I was "Born Again" in 1985 through Jesus Christ.
Truth be told, even "Good people" are sinners under the devil's dominon as hard as that might be to understand. If you don't believe what I'm saying, then do some reading from the holy bible yourself, it could just change your life forever...it did for me.
God wants you to be reconciled with Him. That's why He sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth and to die, taking your place on the cross as payment for your sins. For without Christ in your heart and life, once you leave this earth, comes the judgement and theirs NO time left to except Christ then....Hell instead of Heaven awaits you!
VENOM
The group Venom reveal the real reason for their music, as they sing:
"We're not here to entertain you . . .
I PREACH THE WAYS OF SATAN
In their song "Possessed", they sing:
"I am possessed by all that is evil
Answer to his calls!"
The death of your God, I demand . . .
AND SIT AT LORD SATAN'S LEFT HAND!"
