God's RewardsAs Christians, most of us seldomly think about the word "Rewards" when it comes to our daily walk with the Lord and living the Christian life. Most of us know that, as God's children we are not worthy of His love, mercy, or anything for that matter. We often miss out on what God wants to do for us, simply because we think someone else should receive God's blessing, healing, or anything from the Lord, and not ourselves. This is not so, and it is truly not scriptural.So then, what does the bible (God's word) have to say about Rewards and how do we receive them? The scriptures below will help you understand and see that our Mighty God loves to give His children insentives to be obedient to Him, not merely because we should, (and we should!) or because we love Him (and we should!) but because it's the way He wants it's....and who are we to argue with God!

Earthly Rewards
![]() For those who have recieved Jesus Christ as there Savior & Lord, and commited their lives to Him, rewards are given to us while we are here on this earth. "We love Him, because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19) Take a look at these rewards... "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) ..the greatest gift. "Behold, what manner of love is this, that the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not." (1John 3:1) "As it is written, he that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be His God, and he shall be My son." (Revelation 21:7) And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you for ever." (John 14:16) We are His witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey Him." (Acts 5:32)...The Holy Ghost/Comforter. "For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones." (Ephesians 5:30)..each believer is a member of the body of Christ. "And I will not blot out his name out of the book of life." (Revelation 3:5)..believers that overcome/endure to the end. "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy." (Matthew 5:7) "Because he has set His love upon me, because He hath known My name. He shall he call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliever him, and honor him." (Ps 91:14,15) "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5,6) "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who health all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies; satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." (Psalm 103:2-5) "Rejoice, because your names are written in heaven." (Luke 10:20)
REWARDS - SAINTS RECEIVING CROWNS(Other rewards)"For what is our hope, or our joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?" (1 Thessalonians 2:19) "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing." (2 Timothy 4:8) "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall recieve the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him. (James 1:12) "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." (Revelation 2:10) "And when the chief shepherd shall appear, ye shall recieve a crown of glory that fadeth not away." (1 Peter 5:4) "Behold, I come quickly; hold fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown." (Revelation 3:11)
REWARDS - TREASURES LAYED UP IN HEAVEN"Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust do corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal, for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Matthew 6:20,21) "He that taketh not up his cross, and followeth after Me, is not wrothy of Me." (Matthew 10:38) and He that findeth his life shall lose it, and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it." (Matthew 10:39) for what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26) "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." (Mark 10:25) (Luke 18:25) "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." (Romans 8:6)
REWARDS - BEFORE THE RETURN OF JESUS(THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH)"Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the, to try them that dwell upon the earth." (Revelation 3:10)
REWARDS - AT THE RETURN OF JESUS(THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH)"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9:29) "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection." (Revelation 20:6) But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the word of our Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (Luke 20:37,38) REWARDS - WITH JESUS AT THE MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And He saith unto me, write, blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the lamb. And He saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God." (Revelations 19:7-9) "For he that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment." (Revelation 3:5) "Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy." (Revelation 3:4) "And I will write upon him My new name." (Revelation 3:12) "And I will write upon him the name of My God." (Revelation 3:12) "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." (Matthew 5:4) "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." (Matthew 5:8)
REWARDS - WHEN JESUS RETURNS TO THE EARTHWhen Jesus returns from glory to earth His last time, the saints will return with Him, riding upon white horses. "And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal, yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and the Lord my god shall come, and all the saints with Thee." (Zechariah 14:5) "When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory." (Colossians 3:4) "And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean." (Revelation 19:14) "For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God." (Romans 8:19,21)
REWARDS - DURING THE MILLENNIUMThe saints (the meek) will inherit the earth and shall reign and rule with Jesus for one thousand years. They shall be kings and priests and shall reign over things such as cities or nations. They shall be able to sit with Jesus in His throne. The twelve apostles shall judge the twelve tribes of Israel. "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." (Matthew 5:5) "His Lord said unto him, well done, thou good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." (Matthew 25:21,23) "And He said unto him, well done, thou good servant, because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And He said likewise to him, be thou also over five cities." (Luke 19:17,19) "And he that overcometh, and keepeth My words unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations." (Revelation 2:26) "He hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father" (Revelation 1:6) "But they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years." (Revelation 20:6) "And Jesus said unto them, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel." (Matthew 19:28) "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne." (Revelation 3:21) "He raiseth up the poor and lifteth up the beggar to make them inherit the throne of glory." (1 Samuel 2:8)
REWARDS - AFTER THE MILLENNIUM"He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death." (Revelation 2:11) "Those that had part in the first resurrection, on such the second death hath no power." (Revelation 20:6)
REWARDS - THE NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." (Revelation 21:1)
REWARDS - THE NEW JERUSALEM"And I will write upon him the name...of the city of my God, which is New Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God." (Revelation 3:12) And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband, and I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shallbe no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." (Revelation 21:2-4) "Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life may enter." (Revelation 21:27 "Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." (Revelation 22:14)
REWARDS - IN HEAVEN"And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom." (2 Timothy 4:18) "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God." (Matthew 5:3) "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." (John 14:2) "To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." (Revelation 2:7) "To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it." (Revelation 2:17) "And I will give him the Morning Star." (Revelation 2:28) "In heaven, the saints will be comforted." (Luke 16:25)
Rewards - Spiritual Bodies"For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His dead, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection." (Romans 6:5) "As it is written, behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; handle Me, and see; for a Spirit hath not flesh and ones, as ye see Me have." (Luke 24:39) "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together." "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." "For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now." "And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body." (1 Corinthians 15:40,41) "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." (Daniel 12:3) "And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God. Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; Though my reins be consumed within me." (Job 19:26,27) "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." (1 John 3:2) "The Lord Jesus Christ, who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself." (Philippians 3:20,21) "Foe we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones." (Ephesians 5:30) "Behold My hands and My feet, that it is Myself; Handle Me, and see; for a Spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see Me have." (Luke 24:39) "For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage: but are as the angels which are in heaven." Mark 12:25) "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." (Hebrews 13:2) NOTE: The moment that we die, breathe our last breath here on this earth, we shall be in the presence of our Lord. And like Jesus body changed from a body of flesh to a spiritual body, likewise we shall recieve a new spiritual body. This body will never die and will be able to eat food just as Jesus did when He returned to earth and sat down and broke bread with two of His disciples. Only at death can we be freed from these bodies of sin, to recieve new heavenly bodies that are incorruptible and without sin. What a glorious day that will be!
