How do you recieve eternal life?

GOD'S LOVE

1. Do you know that God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life?

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life". (John 3:16)

GOD'S PLAN

(Christ speaking) "I came that they might have life, and might have it more abundantly" (that it might be full and meaningful) (John 10:10)

2. Man is SINFUL

Because of the fall of Adam in the garden of eden, everyone born after him is born with a sinful nature.

We are SEPARATED

Everyone born is separated from God. (spiritual dead) Therefore, he cannot know God (the Creator) because he/she have been spiritually cut off from the living God.

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Man was created to have fellowship with God; but, because of his stubborn self-will, he chose to go his own independent way and fellowship with God was broken. This self-will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is evidence of what the Bible calls sin.

Man is Separated

"For the wages of sin is death" (spiritual separation from God) (Romans 6:23). God is holy and man is sinful. A great gulf separates the two. Man is continually trying to reach God and the abundant life through his own efforts, such as a good life, philosophy or religion.

3. Jesus Christ is God's "ONLY"...

provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.

He Died in Our Place"But God commendeth His own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).He Rose from the Dead"...Christ died for our sins ... He was buried ... He was rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures ... He was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once..." (I Corinthians 15:3-6). He is the Only Way to God

"Jesus said unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me" (John 14:6). God has bridged the gulf which separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins.

Jesus Christ (the Son of Man & Son of God) came to earth (in the flesh) died on a cross and shed His blood, becoming the second Adam to redeem humanity back to it's intended state. This is called the New Covenant.

We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.We must receive Christ "But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name" (John 1:12).We receive Christ through Faith "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).When we receive Christ, we experience a New Birth (Born-Again)...(Read John 3:1-8).

We Receive Christ by Personal Invitation

(Christ speaking): "Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me" (Revelation 3:20). Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us the kind of people He wants us to be, by the Holy Spirit.

Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. We receive Jesus Christ by faith (trust), as an act of the will.

A Serious Warning!

No ONE can come to God unless God (the Father) draws him first. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to "REPENTANCE".

God provided the cure for mankinds fallen nature. He's already sent His Son over two thousand years ago, who died to take your place on the cross for "YOUR" sins.

So after He calls or speaks to your heart/mind, theres only ONE response left. To except His gift of salvation or "REJECT" it.

It's all about a "CHOICE"...Your's!

You can NOT wait and choose at your discretion to come to God. No one knows how much time we have before psychical death comes (only God) So if He speaks to you, don't put it off! ...you may not have tommorrow to repent and recieve God's wonderful gift of Salvation, here and in the life to come.

YOU CAN RECEIVE CHRIST RIGHT NOW BY FAITH THROUGH PRAYER

To know God, is to know His word and to know His word is to know Jesus. So when He speaks to your heart (or calls to you) The only true response to Him is.. knowing how sinful we are and that we can do nothing to save ourselves, we are hopeless, helpless and can do nothing to merit salvation/eternal life apart from His atoning death and shed blood and a willingness to totally surrender yourself and your life to Jesus Christ (Son of Man- Son of God).

Receiving Christ is NOT just praying a prayer, as some form of "Quick Fix" for you to get into Heaven. However! It's simply a communication line to the God of all creation, offering you His Gift of Salvation, but only according to His Terms, that are given in scripture (the Bible). There are NO short cuts! Obedience to His terms! and the willingness to say Yes Lord, and do as He commands. This is true salvation! Will you hear His voice, according to His word, and follow His instruction for Eternal Life?
