For NJM's Site of the Month for August, Pastor Steve has chosen ~Word Press~
which features a 7 part series on the subject of ~"Prayer Language".
As a Pastor I'm awhere that not all christians believes in a Prayer Language or the gift of Speaking in Tongues.
This has been a debated issue among christians of all faiths, all demoninations and most likely will be until Christs return.
Although I have not been givin the gift of "Tongues" speaking (publicly at church) I do speak or have been givin the gift of a Prayer Language which I use privately in my quiet time before the Lord.
I personally believe that it has definitely improved my prayer life, for when I'm not sure exactly what to pray, my spirit along with the Holy Spirit speaks or communes with each other in utterances "unknown language" not in English!
As the Author of this 7 part series points out, some things of the spirit go beyond our fleshly understanding. Just as "Faith" takes trust from God to blindly believe for salvation, so does speaking in Tongues, or in a Prayer Tongue or Language. With all that being said! If you visit this site, please read with an open mind and of course, please pray and ask the Lord to reveal truth to your own heart concerning this subject.
My prayer for all who visit this site, is that the Lord will help you grow by faith to simply believe in ALL the gifts He has to offer, and that you will ask for the Lord to impart whatever spiritual gift/s He has for you to recieve. Once you ask for the gift/s, then allow the Holy Spirit to teach you how to use your gift/s as He directs according to His will.
~NOTE: Before a Christian can recieve a spiritual gift/s from the Lord, that person should be first "saved" or "born_again"..(obviously), then baptized by water, then baptized by the Holy Spirit, then ask the Lord what spiritual gift/s He wants you to have for the mission He calls you to do for the Kingdom. There are many gifts available through and by the Holy Spirit, and it's God's will and good pleasure to impart each child of His with spiritual gifts as time and each situation presents itself.
